Marsna International Jambourette!!!

A PRESS RELEASE ON THE EVENT
BY TOM "SCREECH" PUGH.

Four Scouts from May Hill & Huntley Scout Group, Tom, Rhys, Dan, and Simon, have returned from their trip to the international Scout Jambourette in Holland.  After a 10 hour journey, they arrived bach home safely.

They set out from their Scout Headquarters at about midnight on Friday, 29th July for the drive to a campsite just outside Masstrict in Holland.  This journey turned into 18 hours as the Group got lost several times.  The Marsna Jambourette is held every four years, and this was the fifth one to be held near Meersen not far from the Dutch, German and Belgium borders.

Scouts from a variety of countries koined together for 10 days to form a Scouting community of about 250 Scouts and Guides.  This year Scouts and Guides from england, Tunisia, Gambia, Portugal, Germany, Canada and Holland attended the Jambourette.

The 10 days were fun packed and tiring.  The activities included a 2 day survival hike in the Ardennes sleeping the night under the stars and a workshop day when every country held a workshop for all the other participants.  All four boys thought it was an experience of a lifetime and would attend again if the oppertunity arose.

If there is anybody else who attended the camp, and would like to get their views aired on the event, e-mail us, and we will attempt to get your views put up on the website.  By the way, we were the ones who were teaching everyone how to make the woggles - a downloadable file explaining how to make them will be available on here very soon.
